Nairobi - At least 14 people were killed when two buses collided on Tuesday in eastern Kenya, medics said.
The collision took place after 00:00 near Mtito Ande village, on the road connecting Nairobi and Mombasa, the country's two largest cities.
Ambulances evacuated 61 people to nearby hospitals. This is one of the busiest weeks for Kenya's dilapidated road networks, as people travel home for Christmas.
A railway is being built to link Nairobi and Mombasa and ease congestion, due to be completed in 2017.
