Bamako - Final election results in Mali on Tuesday confirmed
a landslide victory for president-elect Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, in a poll that many
hope will bring stability to the troubled nation.
The West African country's constitutional court verified
preliminary results released on 15 August.
Keita, popularly known as IBK, won 77.6% in the run-off at
the weekend, while Soumaila Cisse got 22.3%.
The second round turnout was 45.7%, compared to 48.9% in the
Keita, 68, will be sworn in within the next two weeks.
