Lagos - A total of 112 out of 185 companies quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) have failed to pay dividends to their shareholders in 2013.
Only 73 companies have so far declared dividend to their numerous shareholders for the 2012 financial year, a Daily Trust findings have shown.
A breakdown of the companies, according to the findings showed that eleven financial institutions listed on the equities market paid dividend. Six are from food production while building materials section have five.
MRS Oil Nigeria Plc emerged the highest paying dividend stock on the floor of the exchange in 2012/2013 financial year with N24.34 kobo. Nestle Nigeria Plc came second, paying N18.50 kobo while FBN Heritage Fund came third with N10.00.
