Lagos - 17 companies have shown strong interest in acquiring the core assets of Nigeria Telecommunication Ltd (NITEL) and its mobile arm, Mtel.
The bidders emerged after the June 30 deadline for expression of interest, reports BusinessDay.
Their bids are currently being evaluated and would go through the approval process.
Successful firms will afterwards be required to submit further information in order to enable the advisers perform a due diligence on them.
