Lagos - Twenty ships are waiting to discharge petroleum products at the various oil terminals within the Lagos ports, according to the Nigerian Ports Authority. (NPA)
The Shipping Position, a daily publication of NPA, made available to newsmen in Lagos indicated that 11 of the 20 ships would discharge petrol.
Three ships will discharge diesel, while four will discharge kerosene.
The document stated that a ship would discharge aviation fuel, while another one would discharge ethanol.
According to the publication, six ships will discharge rice, bulk wheat and bauxite.
It said that 85 ships carrying different cargoes would sail into the ports between Jan. 31 and Feb. 29.
The publication said that 12 of the ships would arrive with petroleum products, while 10 would sail in with new and used vehicles.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 50 ships would arrive with containers.
The document stated that others would sail in with sugar, general cargoes, bulk wheat, tugboats, bulk malt, fish and truck heads.
NAN reports that 17 ships are currently discharging containers, bulk wheat, sugar, bulk fertiliser, gypsum and petroleum products.
