Abuja - The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is to close the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja for three days beginning from Saturday.
The closure is to enable FAAN carry out maintenance on the runway, reports ThisDay.
Yakubu Dati, the Coordinating General Manager, Public Affairs, Aviation Parastatals, said the facility upgrade is in line with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)-approved safety Standard and Recommended Practices, (SARPs).
He noted that the scheduled maintenance will enhance safety and security at the airport.
