Lagos - Airtel Nigeria has the best human resources practices in the country’s telecommunications sector.
This is according to the findings of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), the top regulatory body of human resources practice in Nigeria.
The firm said the prestigious award is an outcome of a comprehensive and independent audit conducted by CIPM among major GSM operators in the country.
A citation read in honour of Airtel commended the leading telecommunications operator for complying with global HR standards and for following best practices in its employee relations.
Victor Famuyibo, President and Chairman of the CIPM Council explained that Airtel emerged the best in the telecommunications category after a rigorous assessment exercise undertaken by CIPM. He congratulated the company for the laudable feat.
Airtel Regional Operations Director (North), Olufemi Oyewole, who spoke on behalf of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Segun Ogunsanya, described the award as a confirmation of the company’s leadership position as an employer of choice in Nigeria.
He dedicated the award to employees of the company.
“It is an honour to be recognised for the second consecutive year. It is eloquent testimony that Airtel Nigeria has the best people in the telecoms industry. As an employer of choice in Nigeria, our highly motivated employees are always happy to follow best practices in delighting both internal and external stakeholders,” his representative said.
