Lagos - The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC has shut down products supply from Atlas Cove Jetty due to a fire incident, which gutted a pipeline near the jetty on Tuesday night.
The fire incident which lasted for hours before it was put out by fire fighters was caused by vandals who tapped into the pipelines to scoop fuel, reports New Telegraph.
Ohi Alegbe,, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the NNPC, said the corporation swiftly shutdown the pipeline when the fire was spotted.
He assured that the shutdown will not affect the supply of petroleum products.
