Lagos - The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed banks not to impose any bank charge on bank customers for obtaining the newly introduced biometric identification number, reports Vanguard
Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Governor of CBN, said no bank will debit any customer’s account for registering for the new service.
He noted that the biometric verification of banks’ customers was part of efforts to reform the banking sector.
He said measures have been put in place to make it convenient for bank customers to register at any branch of their banks.
