Abuja - A bill seeking to empower the Nigerian Deposits Insurance Corporation (NDIC) to liquidate insurance companies in the country is currently causing a disquiet between the corporation and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), reports ThisDay.
CBN is rejecting the bill saying given NDIC such powers as the bill proposes would place two captains on one ship.
The apex bank noted that there were some areas in the bill that needed to be harmonized between NDIC and CBN.
The new bill seeks to amend the 2006 Act and re-enact the 2014 NDIC Act.
