Lagos - The planned investigation of Bureau De Change (BDC) operators by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been jettisoned.
The decision to ditch the idea follows the recent review of BDC’s capital requirements from N10 million to N35million, reports New Telegraph.
The apex bank believes the probe would not be necessary again since its decision to raise the capital base of the BDCs and the introduction of a mandatory refundable cautionary deposit will in the end weed out unserious operators from the system.
