Lagos - The timeline for resolution of all categories of complaints relating to excess charges and loans in the banking industry has been extended from 14 to 30 days, reports Daily Independent.
The decision to extend the timeline follows complaints by banks to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) that the 14-day timeline for the resolution of complaints on excess charges and loans is in inadequate.
The apex bank announced the extension via a circular dated July 2, 2014, and signed by Kevin Amugo, director, financial policy and regulation department of the CBN.
The new deadline takes effect June 30, 2014.
