Lagos - The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has disclosed that its new Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGs) would be deployed by December 1, 2013.
The new RTGs has several new functionalities including liquidity management facilitations, multi-currency support, reports Guardian.
Tunde Lemo, CBN’s deputy governor, said the new system would facilitate online real-time settlements of payments.
He noted that the system would to be beneficial to bank customers because the electronic system clears transactions within a few minutes.
