Minna - The Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in Minna on Wednesday said it was being owed N8.6 billion by consumers in Minna and its environs.
Madani Garba, the Business Manager, Minna Business Unit, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna.
Garba said that the PHCN had commenced the authentication of all bills owed by each consumer so as to remove over estimation and over billing to enable them pay their electricity bills.
He said that the company was embarking on a public enlightenment campaign on modalities for payment of tariff and bills
``We are dialoguing with customers on how to accept outstanding debts and how to go about the payment,’’ Garba said.
He said that alternative way of recovering debts owed to the company was through house to house disconnection, adding that PHCN had commenced disconnection of defaulting customers.
Garba appealed to the consumers to pay their electricity bills to enable PHCN to serve them better.
