05 November 2013, 11:39

Yola- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday arraigned Madu Garba, a storekeeper with PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc depot, Yola Adamawa State, for alleging defrauding the company.

He was brought before Justice Bilikisu Aliyu of the Federal High Court, Yola, on a 2-count  of fraud through fictitious invoicing to the tune of N8 435 725.

In a press release issued by EFCC's  Head of Media and Communication, Wilson Uwujaren, his arraignment followed a petition by PZ.

The statement said  Garba used the invoice of two distributors, Yalisco Electrical Services and Gassol and Sons Limited to cover up some missing goods in PZ Cussons warehouse.

Garba pleaded not guilty to the charge, a development which prompted the prosecution counsel, Abubakar Aliyu, to ask for commencement of trial.

The court remanded the accused person in prison custody till November 21, 2013 when trial will commence.
