Abuja - Despite the poor state of electricity supply in the country, the federal government and the new electricity distribution companies are making huge amount of money as revenue on a monthly basis.
The total monthly invoiced revenue generated by the government and the firms now averages about N23 billion monthly, reports Vanguard
The government equally realised N416bn from privatisation of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN)
Beks Dagogo-Jack, Chairman, Presidential Task Force on Power, who disclosed these figures, however, said that 90 percent of the sum realised from the sale of PHCN was used to pay the ex-workers their severance packages.
