Abuja - Committee of Central Bank Governors of the ECOWAS sub-region has elected Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as its new chairman.
Emefiele was elected by fellow Central Bank Governors from ECOWAS countries at the 31st Meeting of the Committee of Governors of the West African Monetary Zone (WAMZ) in Abuja, reports Daily Independent.
Emefiele appointment is for six months.
The post was previously held by the Governor of the Central Bank of the Gambia, Amadou Colley for the past six months.
