Lagos - FCMB has joined the growing list of Nigerian banks eyeing the Eurobond market.
The bank is planning to launch a benchmark-size 5-year $300 million euro bond issue to boost consumer lending, reports Bloomberg.
Ladi Balogun, FCMB’s Chief Executive Officer, said the bank plans to increase its loan book to N540 billion ($3.3 billion) this year to boost credit to consumers and fund infrastructure.
He, however, said the bank would only issue the debt instrument if market conditions are favorable.
