Abuja - The Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is scheduled to engage youth in a live online conversation on the 2014 Budget.
The event is scheduled for March 4 to 6.
According to a statement from the office of the minister, the three day online interactive conversation between the Minister and the youth aged 18-40 is an opportunity for the youths to share their thoughts and ideas with the minister on the 2014 budget and its impact on the nation moving forward.
“The 2014 Budget jam is an online event that brings together thousands of people from across the country to discuss issues in real time from wherever they are located. The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is hosting the online interactive session with youth this year on the 2014 Budget,” read the statement.
The office of the minister advised youths who want to be part of the free, online conversation to register at www.collaborationjam.com/jam4/budget2014/registration participation will be on a first come, first served basis.
“The jam is meant to educate and engage participants on topical issues through a series of online discussion forums. All participants have an opportunity offer suggestions as well as exchange ideas on how to move the country forward.
"In this particular instance, the Ministry of Finance would like to hear from the youth on issues that affect them related to the 2014 Budget.”
The event will engage over 20 000 people.
