Lagos -There are indications of an imminent blackout across the country between August and September due the planned maintenance of all gas plants by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The planned maintenance will affect the supply of gas to all power generating plants across the country, reports Daily Trust.
Diezani Alison-Madueke, Minister of Petroleum Resources, who announced this in Abuja, said the action is in line with efforts to consolidate on the successes recently recorded in improved electricity supply in many parts of the country.
She noted that normal power supply will be restored in October and improved upon to a minimum of 5 000 megawatts (MW) in December.
