Lagos - Egbin Power plant is currently losing N8.134 per kilowatt hour to gas shortage and other challenges.
The loss amounts to about N5.6bn annually, reports BizTellers.
Mike Uzoigwe, Chief Executive Officer of the plant, stated this during an oversight tour of the plant by the House of Representatives Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation in Lagos.
He however, said the new owners of the power plant with the help of the technical partners, Korea Electrical Power Nigeria Limited, hope to reduce the losses by addressing some of the challenges facing the plant.
