Lagos - The Federal government has acknowledged for the first time that there were imperfections in the privatisation exercise carried out in the power sector, reports Vanguard.
To address these imperfections, the government has therefore set up a committee headed by the Vice President and Chairman of the National Council on Privatisation (NCP), Namadi Sambo, to tackle the drawbacks recorded in the exercise.
The committee, which would be known as the' Power Investors’ Committee', would meet quarterly to review issues and take critical decisions on the power sector.
Other members of the committee are drawn from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC; Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET), Ministry of Power, Nigerian Gas Company (NGC), Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) and other relevant stakeholders.
