Lagos - The federal government has reduced the number of companies licensed to import petrol in the third quarter from 40 in the second quarter to 27, reports Daily Independent.
The approved oil companies are to import 1.7 million tonnes for the period, down from the 1.85 million tonnes imported in the second quarter.
Allocation sizes vary from 30 000 tonnes up to 120 000 tonnes with Mobil Nigeria PLC, ExxonMobil’s local arm, listed among the winners with larger volumes.
