Lagos - The Nigeria Labour Congress has urged the federal government to stop and prevent the manipulation in cement production by individuals to the detriment of the society.
The congress through its President, Abdulwahed Omar, said the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) is intentionally creating crisis in the cement manufacturing business in Nigeria., reports Daily Independent.
He insisted that the claim by the organisation that the incident of building collapse in the country could be linked to the 32.5 type of cement being manufactured in the country, was misleading and unguarded.
He said the new cement policy as being suggested by SON, imposes severe burden on the firms and the citizenry, warning SON to desist from statements inimical to the growth of the nation’s economy.
