Yenogoa - Oil production at Agip’s Brass Oil Export Terminal could be disrupted as a socio-political group in Bayelsa, Okpoama Vanguard, has threatened to shut the terminal if the Italian oil firm fails to contain the massive oil spill from the facility, reports ThisDay.
The group in a statement said Agip was insensitive to the peoples plight, as evident by its refusal to take action to arrest the spill.
The statement, signed by the group’s secretary, Tariyo Akono, noted that the spill has adversely affected the fishing occupation of the communities.
He called on the company to work out plans to ameliorate the sufferings of the fishermen affected while it deploys its response team to commence immediate clean up.
