Abuja - The Kogi State Government reiterated its commitment to provide housing for civil servants with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Hope Energy/Investment Limited and United Nations Habitat for the construction of 5 000 units.
The State Deputy Architect, Yomi Awoniyi, while signing the MoU on behalf of the Kogi State Government described housing for civil servants as a social security
He said the state government was committed towards the realization of the housing partnership, adding that the project was viable, worthy of embracing and capable of reducing corruption among civil servants when their housing needs had been sorted.
Awoniyi expressed the readiness of his administration to embark on the collaborative venture.
"Our civil servants are in dire need of adequate and comfortable shelter which my administration is very much committed to realize," he said.
The Governor added that the gesture when realized by the government would increase workers productivity and reduce the housing challenge in the state.
