Ikeja - The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) has introduced an online platform to facilitate convenient payment options.
The platform is for post-paid customers for both energy and non-energy related bills.
It has been created in partnership with the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Systems Plc (NIBSS).
The NIBSS is a central switch for interconnectivity and interoperability of payment schemes.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, IKEDC, Abiodun Ajifowobaje, said the initiative represented another milestone for the company as it continued to enhance customer experience within its network.
“This upgrade of our electronic bill payment process has been designed to deliver a more convenient, efficient and seamless experience for customers, whilst paying their IKEDC bills. We urge all our esteemed customers to embrace the platform as we continue to work on ensuring enhanced power supply to our customers,” he said.
Ajifowobaje explained that the new payment channels had been developed for the post-paid customers, adding that the company was involved in ongoing plans aimed at providing more options for such customers.
He added that customers that encountered any challenges should send their complaints to the IKEDC contact centre through the telephone or email.
The IKEDC boss said customers could also visit the company’s website for more information on steps for online payment and in bank branches across Lagos
IKEDC Head, Communication Strategy, Pekun Adeyanju, said the scheme would enhance service delivery to its customers.
He said the new payment process would ensure that post-paid customer accounts were credited promptly, avoiding unplanned service interruptions, the firm added.
According to Adeyanju, the platform, which went live on August 1, would be available on the IKEDC website using credit and debit cards, internet banking portals of financial institutions and bank branches across Lagos State.
