Lagos – More Indonesian companies have indicated interest in taking
advantage of Nigeria’s investment opportunities and large population to invest
in the country.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Sudirman Haseng, stated this in an
interview with newsmen in Abuja.
He said more Indonesian companies are becoming more and more interested in
investing in Nigeria.
“We are already encouraging them to come and take advantage of Nigeria’s
rich and friendly investment environment.
"We believe that their investment in Nigeria will contribute indirectly to
the country’s socioeconomic transformation,’’ he said.
He noted that there were 15 active
Indonesian companies in different parts of Nigeria
Sudirman said the increasing number of his country’s companies in Nigeria
would promote both countries’ trade and investment cooperation.
The envoy also expressed optimism that such investments would create
employment opportunities for young Nigerians.
He added that both governments had evolved measures aimed at promoting good
relationship among businessmen in both countries.
"Today, our Government is working hard at promoting a healthier
relationship between Indonesian and Nigerian businessmen.
“Therefore, we are going to be encouraging more Indonesian companies to
invest in Nigeria, as well as encourage Nigerians to visit our country,’’ he
