Abuja - For leaking the information of the unremitted $49.8 billion oil revenue to the Federation Account, President Goodluck Jonathan has asked the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to resign from office immediately.
Sanusi was accused of conniving with opposition politicians including former President Olusegun Obasanjo to bring down the Jonathan regime by leaking the letter, reports ThisDay
Sanusi has, however insisted that he can only be removed by the President if two -third majority members of the Nigerian Senate decides against him in a vote.
Faced with this reality, Jonathan is said to be working on a new strategy, which is to suspend Sanusi and use security agencies to prevent him from entering the premises of the bank until the end of his tenure in June 2014.
