Jos Board generates N12.7m revenue

28 January 2013, 16:02

Jos -  Jos Metropolitan Development Board generated more than N12.7 million revenue in 2012, the General Manager, Mr. Mathias Hata, said.

Hata told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos on Monday that the revenue was the highest ever generated by the board since its inception.

“Our performance in 2012 is 200 per cent above the previous years and this is an indication that we are contributing to the state meaningfully.

“In the years before 2012, our revenue generation was always around three to four million but in 2012 we broke that record,’’ he said.

Hata said that revenue was from properties, shops, processing of building plans, permits for right of way as well as fees and probate violation fines.

He gave an assurance that the board would do better in the current year.

He called on the occupants of the board’s properties, especially shops, to be up to date in the payment of rents and warned against default.
