Lagos - The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is currently investigating the four GSM operators in Nigeria for indulging in illegal mining of Nigeria’s vast telecoms VAS market.
The four telecoms firms- MTN, Globacom, Airtel and Etisalat have been accused of colluding with unauthorised VAS providers to offer different value-added services to telecoms subscribers in the country, reports National Mirror
The telecoms industry regular had in March directed all the network operators to disconnect all unlicensed VAS providers.
The commission has already identified about 10 unauthorised VAS providers and has commenced enforcement process on both the providers and the affected network operators.
