Abuja - The management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has said it has no connection whatsoever with the disbursement and appropriation of funds to the Sure-P committee.
In a press statement signed by the Acting Group General Manager, Tumini Green, NNPC said Sure-P budget is managed by a Committee made up of eminent Nigerians.
The statement decried purported media reports linking it to the Sure-P budget as a comprehensive falsehood.
The statement added that the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke was unavoidably absent at the Senate hearing because she was away on a national assignment.
The Senate Committee on SURE-P had on Tuesday threatened to scrap the programme unless the supervising Minister of NNPC, Diezani Alison-Madueke, and the CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, come to the Senate and explain where the N500 billion is lodged.
