Lagos - The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and some Swiss traders have been indicted for being involved in the shady deals in the lifting of Nigeria’s crude oil.
This was revealed in a report titled Big Spenders: Swiss Trading Companies, African Oil and the Risks of Opacity, published by Bern Declaration, BD, a Switzerland-based non-profit transparency organisation, reports Premium Times
NNPC was accused of joining forces with the foreigner firms to steal crude oil, robbing Nigeria of billions of dollars.
In the report, NNPC was accused of selling crude below the market value to these firms.
