Abuja - Staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has protested the Federal Government’s planned sale of the four public refineries, reports Naija Lately.
The staff, under the aegis of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and their Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria( PENGASSAN), said they would resist the sale of the refineries.
The protesting staff numbering about 200 gathered as early as 8.30am in the premises of the commission in Abuja chanting solidarity songs.
They displayed placards with several inscriptions to express their anger over the sale. Some of the protesters’ placards read: ‘We cannot be fooled anymore, ’We say no to illegal sale of our refineries, ‘Hide not under privatisation to hijack our refineries’,
