Lagos - A total of 528.22 million shares worth N3.7 billion were exchanged in 6,847 deals on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday.
This was against the 620.98 million shares valued at N4.2 billion traded in 6,782 deals on Monday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the All- Share Index, which opened at 33 251.51, grew by 83.61 points or 0.25 per cent to close at 33,335.11.
Similarly, the market capitalisation appreciated by N26 billion to close at N10.666 trillion from N10.640 trillion posted on Monday.
NAN reports that Nestle topped the gainers’ chart with a gain of N50 to close at N910 per share.
Total trailed with N2.99 to close at N140, while Cadbury rose by N1.69 to close at N39.21 per share.
AshakaCement appreciated by N1.25 to close at N25.25 per share, while Dangote Cement grew by N1.20 to close at N145 per share.
On the other hand, Guinness led the price losers’ chart with N9 to close at N280 per share.
NewGold followed with a loss of N4 to close at N2 470 per unit, while Lafarge Wapco lost N2.90 to close at N66.10 per share.
Presco depreciated by 2.90 to close at N24.25 per share, while GlaxoSmithKline dipped by N2.61 to close at N49.73 per share.
