Abuja - Central Bank of Nigeria Governor-designate, Godwin Emefiele, has hinted that he would look into the financial activities of his predecessor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to ascertain what happened in the past, reports Daily Sun.
Emefiele, while answering questions from senators during his screening, said he would look into the expenditure profiles of the bank to unravel the circumstances that made the apex bank run a budget deficit of N266 billion last year.
He promised to probe into the various expenditure components of the bank to know how exactly the deficit became inevitable.
He noted that some of the deficit would have come from areas that pertain to operational expenditure.
