Lagos - Nigeria has been classified among the world’s extremely poor countries by the World Bank, reports Leadership.
The other countries where extremely poor people abode according to the bank are DR Congo, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, China, Indonesia, Pakistan and Kenya.
World Bank president Jim Yong Kim noted that two-thirds of the world’s extreme poor are concentrated in just five countries: India, China, Nigeria Bangladesh, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The bank has, however, promised to assist Nigeria and the other countries in this category to get out of their current conditions.
