Lagos - The Nigeria Customs Service now generates about N2.2 billion monthly for the federal government through the one percent Comprehensive Import Supervision Scheme (CISS), reports ThisDay.
Olugboyega Peters, Customs Deputy Comptroller, said the money would have gone into the coffers of the three scanner service providers, who were handling the scheme before it was handed over to the service.
He debunked claims by some stakeholders in the maritime sector that the money collected through the CISS go into the coffers of the service.
