Lagos - Nigeria currently tops the list of countries with the highest incidents of crude oil theft in the world, a new report has shown.
Nigeria beats Mexico, Iraq, Russia and Indonesia on the top five countries most plagued by oil theft, reports Vanguard.
Nigeria currently loses 400 000 barrels of oil per day, equating to a revenue loss of about $1.7 billion a month and $20.4 billion annually.
The loss represents 7.7 percent of Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
