Lagos - A new data released by the World Bank shows that only three countries account for about 50% of African economy.
The countries are Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt, reports Vanguard.
The report which assesses economies based on purchasing power parity (PPP) and the strength of countries’ currencies noted that the economies of three countries leapfrogged others in the continent.
The report added that China will overtake the United States of America by the end of 2014 as the largest economy in the world. The United States has been the biggest economy in the world since overtaking the United Kingdom in 1872.
