Abuja - The sum of N426.6 billion has been shared among the three tiers of government under the Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P).
The amount disbursed was savings made from the partial fuel subsidy removal, reports Daily Independent.
Of the N426.6bn, the Federal Government got N180 billion or 42.19 per cent, representing a monthly disbursement of N15 billion over the 12-month period while the balance of N246.6 billion was shared by the states and local governments.
A breakdown of the amount shared by the states in December 2013 revealed that Akwa Ibom got the highest amount of N1.762 billion; while Rivers got N1.095 billion; Delta, N1.185 billion; and Bayelsa, N1.051 billion.
