Lagos - 54 million workers out of about Nigeria’s 60 million workers are not registered under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), reports The Nation.
Misbahu Yola, Chairman, Pension Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp) said the nation’s 20 registered pension fund administrators (PFAs) have in their books only 6 million workers.
He noted that pension fund administrators still have a lot of grounds to cover to make sure that employers register their employees as required by the Pension Reform Act, 2004.
He disclosed that operators have been able to accumulate N4.3 trillion pension assets.
