Abuja - Executive Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, pledged his administration’s commitment to create a conducive environment for business operators.
He made the commitment when he hosted executives from Airtel Nigeria, the telecommunications operator.
“As a responsible and proactive government, we shall continue to create an enabling environment for corporate organizations to thrive,” Ajimobi said.
He meanwhile commended, Airtel Nigeria, for enriching the lives of indigenes of the region through its investment, innovative value offerings and robust Corporate Social Responsibility programmes.
He lauded Airtel for its positive contributions towards uplifting indigenes of the state and for creating employment opportunities through its Business Process Outsourcing programme.
The Governor also pledged further partnership with the telecoms company on more initiatives within the state just as he unfolded to the Airtel team his vision for Oyo state, development plans, projects and key achievements.
“I want to thank Airtel for its partnership with Oyo State Government and for its investment in human capital development and employment creation through its BPO programme,” the governor said.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya, expressed appreciation to the state government for being great host to the company in all communities it has offices in Oyo State.
Ogunsanya also seized the opportunity to report the progress recorded so far by the company’s Business Process Outsourcing initiative situated in Ibadan, which was commissioned by the Governor about a year ago.
“I wish to express my appreciation to the government of Oyo State for its unflinching support and cooperation over the past years. Indeed, the socio-economic development and progress being witnessed in Oyo State are as a result of the enabling environment and opportunities created by the state government for businesses to thrive,” said Ogunsanya.
