Osogbo - Debts owed by power generation and transmission companies may lead to the collapse of the power sector in the country.
The companies according to the Senate Committee on Privatisation have continued to stack up increasing amounts of debt in their operations, reports The Nation.
Gbenga Obadara, Chairman of the Committee warned that if the huge amount of debt in the power sector is not addressed, the sector may eventually collapse.
He noted that the country cannot grow with the present status of power generation, which he describes as so low.
