Abuja - Following the discovery that the N29bn recovered from the Police Pension Fund has been spent on other capital projects without approval from the National Assembly, the House of Representatives Committee on Pensions has summoned three principal officials of the federal government.
Those summoned to appear before the committee within the next two weeks are he Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; the Accountant General of the Federation Jonah Otunla and the Director- General Budget Office, Dr Bright Okongwu, reports National Mirror.
The committee members who were shocked over the discovery threatened to conduct a public hearing on the issue should the officials fail to provide convincing reasons for their action.
