Abuja - Months after the licenses of 20 bureaux de change (BDC) operators were revoked by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Senate has decided to wade into the matter.
CBN governor, Lamido Sanusi, has been mandated by the Upper House to submit a detailed report on the circumstances that led to the cancellation of the licences, reports Thisday.
The report is meant to enable the Senate conduct investigations into the matter.
Bassey Edet Otu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, made the request in a letter to Sanusi.
He noted that the revocation is of serious concern and that the report is meant to enable members to equip themselves with relevant information ahead of the investigations.
