Abuja -The Senate has said it would commence consideration of the 2014 Appropriation Bill on January 28, 2014.
The Senate has set aside the entire week; beginning from January 28 for Senators to exhaustively debate the proposed estimates contained in the 2014 budget.
Senate President, David Mark, made the announcement while reading a letter from the Senate Leader, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba, to the effect that the 2014 budget required urgent passage.
Mark urged the Senators to prepare for a robust debate to ensure passage of the budget within the shortest possible time.
He informed the senators that a register had been opened to collate the names of senators that intend to make contributions during the debate, slated to begin on January 28 and end on January 30.
