Sokoto - Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto said on Thursday that the state government would soon establish a sugar refining firm.
Wamakko spoke when he visited the Kenana Sugar cane irrigation farm and factory in the republic of Sudan.
Wamako’s visit to the farm is to explore more ways to boost sugarcane farming in Sokoto State.
"The governor said he visited the sugarcane factory to see the possibility of bringing small medium sugarcane factory machines to Sokoto to boost sugarcane farming and production.
"Sokoto State has abundant sugarcane farmers and farms, but with the sugarcane factory at our door step, economic activities will be boosted as well as employment opportunities,’’ he said.
