Abuja - Workers of the ailing Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (NITEL) and its mobile subsidiary, Mtel have expressed interest in acquiring the business unit and assets of the companies.
The workers, under the aegis of Senior Staff Association of Communications, Transport and Corporations (SSACTAC), NITEL Branch, belief they are in a better position to manage the ailing telecommunications giant, reports Daily Independent.
To show its commitment, the union has already submitted its expression of interest or pre-qualification bid to the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) .
Elias Kazzah,the National President of SSACTAC, said his members have acquired enough wealth of experience to run these companies.
