Makurdi - Over one thousand members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have dumped the party and declared their intentions to join the Peoples Democratic Party in Benue state.
The Benue state chairman of the PDP, Agbo Emmanuel, received the decampees at the Benue North-west flag-off of the governorship campaign of the PDP in Makurdi, Benue state, on Thursday.
This comes a day after the flag-off of the APC governorship campaign in the state.

The APC has been involved in crises since the party’s endorsement of former Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Samuel Ortom, as the party’s governorship candidate for Benue state.
The party also has the burden of a pending lawsuit filed by aggrieved aspirants at the Federal High Court, Abuja, challenging Ortom’s emergence as the party’s governorship flag-bearer in the state.
Benue state governor, Gabriel Suswam, at the occasion, commended the decampees and urged voters not to support a man who’s certificate is not credible, referring to Ortom’s alleged questionable academic records.
